I Don't Trust the Pirates
Pirate Morgan names a color and plays a card face-down... but is it true? Doubt the pirates or face the consequences in this fun children's bluffing game.
About this game
I Don’t Trust the Pirates is a hilarious bluffing and deception game designed especially for younger children. The mechanic is deliciously simple: pirate Morgan says “Blue!” and plays a card face-down. The other players must also play cards of the color named… but did they really? Don’t trust the pirates!
The moment of truth comes when someone shouts “I don’t trust you!”: the card is flipped and, if the pirate was lying, they take the whole deck as a penalty. But if they were telling the truth, it’s the doubter who takes the cards for doubting! The first player to discard all their cards wins the round.
This game is brilliant in its simplicity: it teaches children about expression and self-control (keeping a pirate poker face isn’t easy at age 5), deduction (did they really have a blue card?), memory and interpersonal communication. With its irresistible pirate theme, it’s a guaranteed favorite at any children’s gathering.
